I recently went through a situation where I was stuck in a lease for a house I was no longer living in or obligated to pay for. Although my lease term was over, the lease would continue month-to-month until both tenants agreed to sign a 30-day notice to move out... which is exactly where the issue was. My roommate didn’t want to let me off the lease and wanted to hold me financially responsible for a home I no longer lived in!
